News | Mental Health is the Theme for World Physiotherapy Day 2018

World Physiotherapy Day 2018 was celebrated on Saturday, 8th September, and the focus for this year’s event is mental health.

Did you know that 1 in 4 people will experience a mental health issue of some sort during their lifetime, and that 1 in 6 people are likely to have had mental health issues in the past seven days?  It is long-proven that exercise not only has physical benefits, but is an integral part of maintaining good mental health and wellbeing.  The World Confederation for Physical Therapy has put together two infographics which show just how important activity is for sustaining and improving our mental health (see below).

Our expert team of Chartered Physiotherapists would be delighted to assist you should your require advice and/or support in improving your activity levels.  For an appointment, please ring our Reception on 061-201444 or contact us via the contact form on this website.
