On-Site Workstation Assessment

What is it?

An on-site workstation assessment is a dual examination of the person’s workspace and their musculoskeletal health. As trained physiotherapists and ergonomic experts, we are specifically checking for any ergonomic issues in the workspace or the worker’s activity which might be contributing to pain or problems, or have the potential to do so. Our goal is to identify any risk factors and give you practical solutions to address and resolve them.

Our ergonomic assessment team is based in Limerick, but we also travel elsewhere to conduct workstation assessments.

What is involved?

Our expert ergonomist, Donnacha Ryan, interview the employee to learn more about their work duties, working pattern, task management, workflow, and any pain or discomfort that may be affecting them and/or their ability to do their work. The Ergonomist will then carry out a thorough assessment of the workstation and the working environment, including; furniture and equipment, layout, environmental factors (e.g. light, heat, airflow), looking out for any risk factors that are causing, or have the potential to cause, pain, injury or discomfort.

After the assessment, the employer will receive a report which will outline: (a) any ergonomic risks identified, (b) recommendations including any modifications required, and (c) guidelines on postural changes, stretches or strengthening exercises (if required) which would help to reduce the risk of musculoskeletal disorders occuring.
